Description:
One stereograph of a panoramic view of Pompeii, Italy. There is a long street with ruins of houses and buildings on either side. The photographs are mounted on yellow cardboard that is printed with "VIEWS OF POMPEII." On the front, M.F.H. wrote: "Destroyed 79 A.D." and on the back recounts the archaeology they witnessed and dated the card "Aug. '75." M. F. H. took a European tour in July and August of 1875, traveling from Belgium to Switzerland, Italy, France, England and Scotland.
