Description:
Handle is flat, rounded and slightly upturned at the end, and tapers to the bowl; the top three-fourths of handle is ornamented with engraved star and foliate motifs; from the bottom of the handle to the top: a line of engraving, two stylized flowers one above the other, a scrolling line, a star composed of an "HOWARD" is engraved on the handle front; on the handle back, reading from left to right: the capital letter "W" in a circle, a griffin facing left, "STERLING" in capital letters, "ETTENHEIMER" in capital letters; "X" superimposed on a cross enclosed in a circle, a three leaf clover, leaning to the left, a zig-zag connecting six small star like motifs to the left of the clover, and a spray of lillies of the valley - Five small flowers attached to one stem; there is a small rat-tail on the back of the handle; the bowl is oval and slightly pointed.
