Description:
Fork handle is flat, rounded and slightly upturned; at the back of the handle is a small rat-tail; the top two-thirds of handle is ornamented with engraving; from tine end to top, the ornamental engraving consists of: two flower motifs - one above the other, a swrled line, a star - consisting of an "X" superimposed; engraved on the handle front is the name "Howard"; on the back of the handle, reading from the left to the right: a capital letter "W" in a circle, a griffin facing left, "STERLING" in capital letters, "ETTENHEIMER" in capital letters. on a cross, in a circle, a three-leafed clover leaning to the left, a diamond and star pattern to the left of the clover, a spray of lillies of the valley- consisting of five lillies attached to one stem - which curves to the right at the top edge of the handle; the lines are thin, of equal length and width, evenly spaced, and slightly pointed at the tip.
