Description:
Tapering handle with rounded, slightly upturned end; beaded ornamentation on handle ends in small volutle at tine end; shell ornament at opposite end; there are four tines; the outer two have scalloped edges for half their length; tines are upturned, and curved so as to be bowl shaped; three marks appear on the back side of the handle; from left to right, a capital "W" in a circle at the immediate left of a griffin which faces left: "STERLING" ; "PAT. APPD. FOR; the front of the handle is monogrammed with a capital letter "S".
