Description:
Four tines, one of which is slightly thicker with a concave end. Handle is tapered to tines, with ogee curves and flared end ornamented with grapes, leaves and a small shell. Small wisps of vines continue asymmetrically down length of handle toward tines. Leaf and tendril motifs continue on back of handle On back side of handle -- "1847 ROGERS BROS" followeed by a capital "T" in a circle. [ Rogers Bros. merged with the Meriden Britannia Co., R.M. & T.H. Kovel : "A Directory of American Silver, Pewter and Silver plate"] and onto area between thin end of handle and beginning of tines. There are small notches at the edge of this area.
