Description:
Ornamental engraving covers three-fourths of the handle; the handle is flat, rounded and tapers to the blade; from blade end to top, the ornamental engraving consists of a line; two stylized flowers - one above the other, a scrolled line, a star-consisting of an "X" super imposed over a cross - in a circle, a three; front of handle is engraved with the name "HOWARD"; on the back of the handle, in capital letters is the name "ETTENHEIMER"; on the back of the blade, facing the opposite direction of the the previous mark is: a capital letter "W" in a circle, a griffin facing left. The workd "STERLING" in capital letters. leafed clover leaning to the left, four star motifs - one above the other; to the left of the clover, a spra;y of lillies of the valley - five flowers attached to one stem curving to the right, at the top edge of the handle; there is a slight flare of the handle where it meets the black.
