Slightly outward curving tip with a band of heavy ornamentation on the inner edges of lip; ornamented band consists of four shell motifs which are raised slightly from the remainder of the band; other ornament motifs include scrolls and stylized leaves; on bottom: "THEODORE B. STARR/NEWYORK/STERLING/305"; on outer side of bowl is an engraved capital letter "G" in gothic script. [This is the same engraving as seen on dish, 1997.5.76].
