Fiddle handle, with bead molding ending in volutes on front and back of handle; handle is upturned; three tines, two normal sized, one double sized with concave end; three cast characters on back side of handle; from left to right; a lion facing rignt in an octagonal box, an anchor in a shield shaped box, a capital gothic "G" in an octagonal box; the word "STERLING" follows the characters; the words "PAT. 1903" fall at the join of the tines and handle on the backside; front handle is inscribed with a capital "R".
